FAQs

Q: What is NSCSAS?

A: The Neuroscience and Cognitive Science Association of Students (NSCSAS) is a student-run undergraduate club at the University of Arizona. NSCSAS fosters a community of students and provides social, outreach, and professional opportunities to better our members and the Tucson community.

Q: I'm not majoring in Neuroscience or Cognitive Science, can I still participate in NSCSAS?

A: Totally! Our club exists to bring together students interested in Neuroscience and other related topics -- anyone from any major can join!

Q: I'm not interested in medicine / I'm not a pre-med student, can I still join?

A: Of course! NSCSAS is not a pre-med club. While there are events that tailor to students on the medical track, there are many other events tailored to those on research and industry tracks as well. There are NSCSAS alumni in graduate school, patent law, computer science and plenty of other fields outside of medicine. This club represents the interests of the entire NSCS major, NOT any one subsection.

Q: Do I need to have any particular class standing to join the NSCSAS?

A: NSCSAS welcomes students with any class standing! Most of the executive board has been a member since their first semester at the University of Arizona.

Q: When are NSCSAS meetings held?

A: Meetings are held every other Monday at 6pm AZT. Email us to join our contact list to receive weekly emails about meetings, events, and club happenings.

Q: Where are NSCSAS meetings held?

A: Meetings are usually held in the Environmental and Natural Resources 2 (ENR2) building in Room S107. Any change in the location of the meeting will be included in the weekly email and announcements page.

Q: Are there any virtual accommodations for NSCSAS events/meetings? If so, how will I know?

A: Wherever possible, our event sign-up forms contain an optional question to allow requests for virtual accommodations. By filling out the form, you notify an officer of your request and they will respond via email as soon as they are available. If we are unable to provide virtual accomodations for an event, we will include that in the sign up and provide any resources necessary that can give information about access for all of our members.

Q: Are masks required at all NSCSAS events and meetings?
